Ingredients
1 - 9" unbaked pastry shell
4 - 5 Hirsch's Apples
1/2 C. Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 C. Sugar
3/4 C. Flour
1/3 C. Butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°. Use your "Peel Away" apple peeler (available at Hirsch's) to peel, core and slice apples, (or you can do this step by hand) then cut apples in half. Put apples in large bowl Mix 1/2 C. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon together and toss with apples to coat. Place apples in pie shell. For crumb topping; mix 1/2 C. sugar with 3/4 C. flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake/Cook
Bake 15 min. at 400°. Reduce oven to 350° and bake 45 min. longer. Cover edges of pie crust with foil if getting to brown. Let cool 15 min. before serving. Great with ice cream.
